A fool, a goose – birds are used to describe all sorts of behaviours and personalities including a goose (stupid, silly), a turkey (a bigger goose), a chicken (scared), chicken shit (terrified), an old crow (elderly lady), a buzzard (elderly man) or a peacock (vain man), magpie (‘collector’ or hoarder), go cuckoo or act a loon (mad) and be a quack (crazy doctor).
