The inaugural RM Williams + Michael Reid exhibition titled Land and People brings together a significant curation of contemporary artists who explore the intrinsic link between life and land. Navigating rural and First Nation’s interpretations, this exhibition will platform four exceptional female artists who explore how memory and identity are influenced by Country. Featuring evocative paintings by Carly Le Cerf and intricate etched metal road signs by Gaypalani Wanamabi, the exhibition will be punctuated with historical images from the RM Williams archive. Also on view will be ambitious paintings by Lucy Vader, as well as debut artist Jill Daniels, whose dynamic rodeo-themed paintings illuminate the striking fusion between First Nations culture and contemporary life in remote communities.
